Transitional Housing

Our transitional housing program is the next phase in assisting families to move to permanent homes.  Many of our homeless families find work, but are still living in motels, shelters or cars because they can afford the expenses alone.

This program offers public assistance with food, shelter, clothing and transitional housing.  It is designed to assist the homeless and disadvantaged as they get the resources they need. The goal is to move them to permanent housing.

Permanent housing

  • Families living in the hotels and motels, living week to week lack the funds to move into a home or an apartment requiring first month’s rent, in additional to deposits for utilities.
  • Most working homeless families are living in hotels and pay an average of $250 a week, including tax, totaling more than $1,000 a month.  They could afford the expenses of their own home, but its difficult to save.
